Korea Tour : Itaewon, Home of Foreigners in Seoul
Itaewon consists of Itaewon 1 and Itaewon 2, and foreigners and foreign missions are concentrated in Itaewon. A total of 4,277 households in Itaewon 1 are living with 10,601 people, of which 1,951 (18.4%) are foreigners. In Itaewon 2-dong, 5,208 households have a population of 11,637, of whom 370 are foreigners. Many foreigners live in Itaewon next to Hannam-dong in Yongsan-gu. Also in Itaewon are the embassies of Norway, Denmark, Senegal and Sri Lanka.
With the increase of hotels, restaurants and shopping centers for foreigners, there has been a large increase in the floating population in Itaewon. The increased flow population includes not only foreigners but also Koreans.
On September 29, 1997, the government designated Itaewon-dong and Hannam-dong as the Itaewon Tourism Zone. The Itaewon Global Village Festival will take place around October every year according to the designation of the Special Tourism Zone. In addition, Itaewon Grand Sale will be held around May every year in conjunction with the Seoul High Festival. Itaewon is a region that can represent the transnational space in Korea.

It is the main street of Itaewon, and there are restaurants from various countries around the world.
2. Serosugil Street
Opposite the world food culture street are many restaurants at affordable prices.
3. The Islam Mosque
The largest Islam Mosque in Seoul
4. HBC Village Street
This area is somewhat cheap to rent in Itaewon and so, foreigners of low income gather together in this place.
5. Gyungridan Street
This street was named as such because there is an accounting office of the army.
